I really wanted to get a wide angle shot during the time of totality with the temple at the bottom corner of the shot and the eclipsed sun at the top. With such crowds gathering, and a stage with singers already set up, this shot seemed unlikely. Eventually, we settled on a spot just a lttle way from the temple, but behind some 'other temple area ruins'. This I though may give me a reasonable amount of content for a wide shot. I set up the tripod , mounting the 80-400 Nikon lens and fitting a solar filter so I could take some shots as the eclipse started.
